Workforce
Key to a sustainable and resilient service is our ability to retain our existing workforce and then recruit and train new staff. This is about our services being recognised for their supportive and empowering culture, in other words making local healthcare services truly great places to work.
We are developing a range of new roles including Registered Nursing Associates, Social Prescribers and First Contact Physiotherapists which give staff opportunities to experience different environments, helping them become more experienced and versatile which supports us to safely staff our services, and we are placing real emphasis on ensuring all our staff are supported and looked after in what we acknowledge can be challenging environments.
We also need to develop a more co-ordinated approach to recruitment, so rather than all local organisations fishing in the same pond, we need to develop more rotational roles and recruitment processes to ensure organisations are managing our workforce as effectively as possible.
