Cancer care
We are committed to preventing as many people as possible from experiencing cancer, with a focus on preventing people starting to smoke and supporting as many as possible to stop.
We are also committed to increasing our early detection of cancer through screening programmes which include targeted interventions for those at most risk, targeting working to prevent young people taking up smoking.
This will be underpinned by eduction and training to ensure earlier diagnosis followed by timely access to holistic services.
Once people have received a diagnosis of cancer we will ensure they receive the best possible care. This includes introducing a personalised approach to peoples follow-up, based upon their risk of recurrence. Individuals affected by cancer will have access to health and wellbeing events to ensure a more holistic approach to their recovery.
