Bumper weekend for booster jabs across Herefordshire and Worcestershire
Thanks to the incredible efforts of Herefordshire and Worcestershire NHS partners, local councils, and volunteers, nearly 73 per cent of eligible adults across both counties have now received their booster jab.
The news comes in following monumental efforts from all involved over the past week, which even includes a 24-hour booster session at Artrix Centre in Bromsgrove, as well as a number of walk-in vaccination opportunities and pop-up vaccination clinics in both counties.
Local Town Crier, Kevin Ward, was out in Worcester reminding people to get jabbed in the centre of Worcester and will be returning to local shopping locations over the coming week to remind people to get their boosters before Christmas.
Simon Trickett, Chief Executive Officer for NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG said: “I would like to thank our local partners for mobilising so quickly to ramp up booster delivery across both counties, and also members of local communities who have come forward so quickly for their booster vaccination.
However, the threat posed by Omicron to the NHS is still significant, so I would urge everyone to get boosted as soon as they can. For those who haven’t received their first or second dose of the vaccine, it is not too late to do so.”
Vaccinations are available to book at vaccination centres across the two counties via the NHS national booking system, https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ or by calling 119, at the following locations:
- Artrix Vaccination Centre, Bromsgrove (24 hours a day until 23 December)
- St Peter’s Church, Worcester
- Three Counties Showground, Malvern
- Knights Pharmacy, Redditch
- Elgar House, Hereford
- Day Lewis Pharmacy, Hereford
- Saxon Hall, Hereford
- Bromyard Community Hall, Herefordshire
- Earl Mortimer, Leominster
In addition to these there are several drop-in locations and pop up clinics across both counties this week including the Artrix in Bromsgrove, HOW College in Worcester, Bromyard Community Centre, Hereford Cattle Market, and Hereford City Centre (Maylord Orchards).
Details of these can be found on the CCG website, Twitter and Facebook channels https://herefordshireandworcestershireccg.nhs.uk/covid-19-vaccine/vaccination-sites
GP practices across Herefordshire and Worcestershire are currently prioritising the Covid-19 vaccination programme which has meant that some routine services and appointments may temporarily be stood down. The public will be contacted by their GP practice to book their Covid-19 booster vaccination if they have not already received one at a vaccination site.
