Herefordshire and Worcestershire residents are encouraged to join the millions who’ve already registered for the NHS App

Over 18 million people in England have registered on the NHS App and health bosses across Herefordshire and Worcestershire are encouraging residents to join them.

The NHS App is free to download on iOS or Android for anyone aged over 13 and registered at a GP practice in England.

One of the key features of the NHS App is the NHS COVID Pass which can be viewed or shared via the app. The NHS COVID Pass can be downloaded, saved or printed from the app and used to demonstrate an individual’s vaccination status. Many countries now require proof of Covid-19 vaccination as do some domestic events and venues; the NHS COVID Pass can be used to provide this evidence simply and easily.

Dr Ian Roper, GP and Clinical Digital Lead (Herefordshire) for NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG said: “The NHSApp is such a simple way to access a range of NHS services from your smartphone or tablet no matter where you are or what time it is.

“It’s important to remember that the NHSApp is free to download and provides free access to your NHS COVID Pass. The NHS will never ask for payment or financial details. Be alert to links and attachments in unexpected text messages or email and do not respond to requests for important information such as bank details or passwords.”

The NHS App can also be used to get trusted NHS information and advice on hundreds of conditions and treatments. It also provides quick and simple access to NHS 111 online in which a person will be asked to answer some questions to get instant advice or medical help near them.

Some other features of the NHS App include:

  • Ordering of repeat prescriptions and nominating a chosen pharmacy
  • Secure access to your GP health record
  • Advice about Covid-19
  • Registering your organ donation decision
  • Viewing your NHS number
  • Find out how the NHS uses your data
