The Covid-19 vaccination is now being offered to anyone over the age of 18 which is yet another positive step in the NHS vaccination programme.
As of 6 June, 28,999 people under 30 in Herefordshire and Worcestershire have already received at least one dose of their Covid-19 vaccination.
Dr Ian Tait, Chair for NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG, said: “I would encourage everyone who is eligible for a Covid-19 vaccination to take the opportunity to protect themselves and others by having the vaccine when it is offered.
“No one in our two counties will miss out on having a vaccination if they want it. Please do not worry if your preferred location is not available, keep trying as more appointments will become available.
“If you have not yet taken up the vaccine offer, you can still book your appointments via the National Booking System.
“Remember, it is essential that you attend for your second vaccination in order to provide you with longer term immunity to Covid-19.”
Bookings are not always available at all locations. This means that some people may be offered an appointment at a vaccination centre further away from where they live.
If travelling further for an appointment is not convenient, people are encouraged to keep checking the National Booking System until a more suitable location becomes available.
More slots for vaccination appointments are continually being made available based on vaccine delivery. Appointments can be booked via the National Booking System which can be accessed by calling 119 or visiting: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-vaccine/. Please note that the National Booking System requires everyone to book their first and second vaccination appointments at the same time.
People aged 39 and under who are eligible and pregnant women will be offered the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine in line with updated JCVI guidance.
