Face to face GP appointments are available

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, how you contact your GP surgery will be different at the moment to help stop the spread of the virus and keep people safe.

Face-to-face appointments are available to all patients across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, but you may be asked to discuss your conditions over the phone or online first to assess what would be most appropriate for you.

In addition to face-to-face consultations, many GP practices are offering consultations online or over the phone. This can be a convenient and flexible way to receive healthcare but if you would prefer to see a GP or healthcare professional in person then this will be arranged for you.

Dr Mike Hearne, GP and Managing Director for Taurus Healthcare in Herefordshire said: “All practices are offering varied types of appointments, including face to face appointments, but we ask that you ring your practice first.

“That way we can discuss with you the best option depending on your condition or circumstances that will keep you and our staff safe.

“This might be a telephone or virtual consultation using video or online technology to advise and treat patients who do not require a face to face appointment.

“If you are asked to come into the surgery for a face-to-face appointment, please remember to wear a face covering. Measures are in place to keep you safe from infection during your visit to the surgery.
