Recent improvements to our approach

Throughout 2019 we asked members of the public and our patient representatives to comment on how we, as a CCG were doing. Based on your feedback we have now introduced our ‘Local Listening’. These are our one hour, local drop-in sessions that take place across Herefordshire and Worcestershire fortnightly, throughout the year. For more information visit our local listening page

Engagement Framework Evaluation

We think that it is important that our engagement and involvement practices are equitable and equally accessible to all of the residents in Worcestershire. We are committed to review our involvement and engagement framework periodically, both internally and by seeking external assurance.

As part of this commitment, the CCG has reviewed its’ engagement practices in 2019/20 to establish how well we adhere with the Equality Act 2010 and engage with patients from the nine protected characteristics. We followed the EDS2 process; the Engagement Team rated our engagement activities against the nice protected characteristics and then asked the Patient and Public Involvement Lay Member to review and comment on these ratings. Following the assessment, we devised an action plan aimed at better improving our engagement approach.

Following the Evaluation of our Engagement Framework we have the following actions for 2020/2021. In this year we will be establishing new engagement processes for the new Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG and we are keen to learn from our previous structures and processes.
